Wild Things.. The sultry, sexy 1998 John McNaughton twisted/comedy/hitchcock-like suspense thriller graced my TV today.. I’d forgotten how awesome it was.
Based in the Florida Everglades in the 90s, the film follows characters Kelly (Denise Richards) and Suzie (Neve Campbell) and their relationships with their teacher Mr Lombardo (Matt Dillon). Kelly lusts after Mr Lombardo, accuses him of raping her and without giving away too much, you start to understand nobody in this film can be trusted on their word.
A fantastic story that is both engaging and exciting. This film packs so many twists and is exceedingly clever. 4* out of 5*. 1 star lost for the pointless scene where Kevin Bacon (who is executive producer) steps out of the shower naked, abruptly and without warning. He’s not an unattractive man by any means.. But I found the film hard to take seriously after that.
